Thursday

So there I sat, sprawled, awkwardly, leg hanging off the bench, other tucked under the leg positioned like a diving board, over the edge. I could not move my gaze, the outdoors was calling my name, I kept a fine, content focus on the pebbly sidewalk, the skies... The greatest of outdoors. After a full day of classes I was able to zone out effectively, with no thought truly on my mind other than excitement to pass through the big clear doors leading out... Out into the world, out of a school of students, studying. Soon I had my moment, I stood, with headphones, with long hair flowing, and with a few extra layers to warm my soft skin. I walked the proud walk out those large doors and the cold hit me like a wet sponge thrown from an ornery person washing a dish with a sponge, it hit me hard. The cold, the icy cold of Minnesota, yet I was content, I kept going, pushing through the cold to the car, to take me to another place of existence, filled with different memories than the one at hand, a smaller, quieter residence. Off I went.
